Chief's Office
Welcome to the Monroe Township Fire/EM web page. The goal is for our web page is to provide simple information sharing to everyone. Currently, the department staffing is 6-8 firefighters on a daily 24 hour rotations. We responded to 1870 emergency calls last year. The Department has two professional volunteers supporting our mission. The first our medical director Joseph Khan and second Chaplin Richard Waldbillig both provide training and support to the department at no cost. We appreciate that these two accomplished individuals are providing their expertise to the department for free.
The department has grown within the past year by refocusing energy in training, delivery of service, public education and giving back to the community.
During this past year, we have seen overdoses in the Township increase, the cost of the lifesaving drug Narcan has risen from $9.00 a dose to now over $45.00 a dose. No one can put a price on a life, however, the drug company has placed this burden back to the local Fire/EMS and health care system with outrages increases. Just saying no to drugs will help bring down the cost and will save your life.
As a department, we will be more than happy for those who seek help from addiction to refer that individual to the various outreach groups that are now reaching out to help those in need. Contact the department at 513-553-3033 ask for the on-duty Captain. If the Captain is not available to call my office at 513-734-0847 leave a message and I will return your call. Keep in mind there are several groups in the township already working through various religious organizations and social organizations, as well as community health organizations to help get those in need help.
The department does not issue burn permits for burning of yard waste and debris. Ohio EPA laws prohibit the burning of construction and building materials period no exceptions. Please contact either station on duty crews can provide instructions on the limits of the open burn being requested or click here to see the current Ohio laws.
